Emulsified asphalt has been used for roaddevelopment and waterproofing for many years. As a road material it findsapplication as a slurry seal for the surface layer, pot whole repair and as abonding coat for subsequent layers. FE 5 MT Asphalt Emulsion Plant isused for producing various types of emulsified asphalts as wellas SBR modified asphalt. The plant is designed for continuous operation. Alloperations can be performed fully-automatically, semi-automatically ormanually. Our plant has been designed to keep operator requirements to theminimum and only needs two operators to conduct all the operations. The mainjob of the operator is to feed emulsifier to the plant and of periodic valvecontrol. The complete plant is mounted on a sturdy mobile skid and can be movedto the required site with ease.

WHATIS BITUMEN EMULSION:An Emulsion is a mixture of two immiscible liquids,one of which is dispersed in the other in the form of very fine particles. Theprocess of emulsification is accomplished by use of an emulsifier and astabilizer. A colloid mill is generally used for the preparation of anemulsion.

TYPES OF BITUMEN EMULSION:Anionic:In which bitumenparticles are negatively charged &Cationic:in which the bitumen particles are positively charged.

PROCESSDESCRIPTION FOR BITUMEN EMULSION:80/100Bitumen at a flow abletemp of 100-120C is pumped into the Emulsion Tank. Water, Fuel Oil andEmulsifiers are fed into the Solvent preparation tank at approx.. 40C.The flowis controlled using flow meters. Both the Bitumen and prepared solvent arepumped together into the Colloid mill at a controlled rate which breaks thebitumen into fine particles and coats it with the additives. The Emulsion isfinally discharged into the primary material tank where it is homogenouslystirred and re circulated.
