Vaccume Dryer

Function

These vacuum dryers are mainly used for drying of high grade oxygen & temperature sensitive materials. Hygroscopic substances, material which change their characterists and colour during drying at high temperatures, etc are very suitable for drying in Vacuum tray dryers because these materials require very low residual moisture and very low content level after drying.

Available in lab models such as 3 trays, 4 trays , pilot plant models 6 trays & 12 trays & production scale models 24 trays, 48 trays and 96 trays models are available. Tray size will be 800 mm x 400 mm x 40 mm H. for all the models except lab model where the tray size will be 400 x 400 x 32 mm

Construction:

Shell is manufactured out of SS 316 6 mm thick. The shell is suitably reinforced by Steel stiffners from outside which does not come in any contact with the contact parts or material. Door is made from 8 mm thk SS 316 sheets and door lips have food grade silicon rubber gasket. Door is locked by means of “I” bolts with suitable locking system such that there is absolute no leakage to ensure full vacuum inside the VTD. The dryer is mounted on 4 legs with ground level clearance of approx 300 mm or as per clients requirements. Dryer is insulated with 50 mm rockwool insulation and cladded with 16 g SS 304 sheets. Heavy duty hinges ensure that the door does not sag due to continous operation over a period of time.

Shelves:

Shelves are manufactured out of 4 mm upper sheet and lower sheet. Shell ht will be 28 mm and in between shelf baffles will be provided of MS to ensure proper circulation of hot water/ steam etc throughout the shelf and get proper heating. Shelves will have one inlet and one out let which are brought out of the vtd from the rear side. End connections have triclover fittings for ease in removal and maintainence if required at any time. Each shelf are removable and are moutned on SS bars. Total no of shelves depends on the model of vacuum tray dryer selected. All the models will have one dummy shelf on the top.

Headers

All the shelves inlet and outlet connections are brought outside the dryer from the rear side. They are coupled by a common inlet and outlet header giving one common connection for inlet and outlet hot water/ steam etc connections. All the connections are of triclover fittings which are easily removable.

Connections And Nozzles

Shell and tube type condenser will be provided along with the dryer (at extra cost) the condenser MOC will be SS 304 shell with SS 316 internal tubes and its surface area will sutable to the model of VTD selected The condenser is attached to the outlet header of the vacuum tray dryer on one side and to a Receiver on other end.

Receiver is a SS 316 tank in which the solvents, etc in the vacuum dryer vapours recovered after condensation are recovered.

Vacuum Pump

A suitable vacuum pump will be provided at extra cost. The pump will be connected to the vacuum tray dryer for creating vacuum inside the vtd.
