Scope: An automatic type Flash Butt Welding Machinesuitable for joining of Forged Sections, Bars & Rods of various sizes.

Application: Thesemachines are specially designed to weld railway components including Push Rods,Pull Rods, & Shackles. A wide variety of other components may also bewelded by simply changing the weld electrodes.

Construction: The main frame is of welded steelconstruction generously proportioned to avoid deflection and is suitably stressrelieved to avoid deformation with aging. The machine frame encloses the mainwelding transformer and supports the fixed and moving platens.

Flashing& Upsetting System:The movement of the right hand platen is by means of a direct acting Hydrauliccylinder. The flashing speed is controlled by a specially designed valve. Thisvalve is connected in metering out mode to ensure consistent behaviour.Upsetting is achieved by sudden application of high pressure.

PlatenGuide: Anantifriction guide system is provided for the movement of the moving platen andis free from play. Suitable arrangement is also provided for compensating forwear over extended use. The guide system is protected from welding splatter andother outside material. All friction points are provided with sealed lubrication arrangement.

MainTransformer:This transformer supplies the high current necessary for welding and isspecially designed. It consists of high grade electrical steel as core. Primarycoils are of solid electrolytic copper of generous section, Secondary is alsoprepared from electrolytic copper of a specially designed hollow section foreffective cooling. The insulation is class 'F' and generally meets IS 4804 PartI.
